Customer Reviews
Mark Stevenson: “I recently built a high-compression small block Chevy for local drag racing events, and the oil pressure spikes were ballooning standard economy filters. Switching to the FRAM HP Racing Series oil filter completely solved the issue, as its thick steel canister and heavy-gauge baseplate handle my high-viscosity racing oil flawlessly even under extreme RPMs on the track.”
Sarah Jenkins: “Living in a dusty rural area meant I was constantly changing my engine and cabin air filters to prevent my SUV from feeling sluggish and smelling stale. I upgraded to the Tough Guard engine air filter paired with a Fresh Breeze cabin filter, and the difference is incredible—the baking soda completely neutralizes the dust smell, and the engine feels like it is breathing much better.”
David Ramirez: “During my last major transmission service on an older import sedan, I decided to use a FRAM replacement transmission filter along with their PCV valve. The components fit perfectly without any alignment headaches, the transmission shifts smoother than it has in years, and the structural build quality gave me total confidence that it will last until the next major fluid flush.”
FRAM Racing FAQ
How often should I change my FRAM oil filter?
For everyday vehicles using the standard Extra Guard filter, it is recommended to change it every 10,000 miles, while premium lines like the Ultra Synthetic can last up to 20,000 miles. However, if you are using the HP Racing Series, the filter is optimized for high flow over long-term dirt capacity and should be changed frequently along with your racing maintenance intervals.
Can I use a FRAM Racing filter on a standard daily driver?
While it will physically fit and protect your engine, racing filters are built specifically to handle high-pressure oil flow rather than trapping microscopic particles over thousands of miles. For standard daily driving longevity, you will get much better long-term protection and value from the Ultra Synthetic or Extra Guard lines.
What is the purpose of the black textured coating on the bottom of the filter?
That signature textured surface is called the SureGrip® coating, which is designed to give you a non-slip surface so you can easily spin the oil filter on and off by hand without slipping, even if your hands are covered in engine oil.
Do FRAM cabin air filters really get rid of outside odors?
Yes, the Fresh Breeze line of cabin air filters integrates real ARM & HAMMER® baking soda and activated carbon into the filter media to actively absorb and neutralize unpleasant odors from exhaust, skunks, or dust before they enter the vehicle cabin.
